The Government of the Nizhny Novgorod region aims at creating good life conditions in the region which is to be achieved mainly by economic development.

Securing the innovational development is the most important task because the dominance of high-tech sectors with high labour productivity in the region is the indispensable condition for economic growth. That is why the Government heads for creating industrial parks, business-incubators, small science-intensive enterprises and for venture capital development.

The development of production infrastructure aimed at removing economic growth restrictions created by energy and transport problems stands among the priority tasks of the regional Government.

A lot of attention is paid by the local Government to creating favorable climate for investments and conditions for business.

According to the Strategy of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development till 2020 the Government of the region also works out a new social development policy. It is aimed mostly at large-scale development of social sphere, income of population increase, solving housing and demographic problems.
