The Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region is the highest executive body of the Region. It is headed by the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
The Nizhny Novgorod Region Government deals with all the issues concerning management of the social and economic development of the Region.
The Government is a plural executive body, managing the system of executive bodies of the Region.

Structure of the Government, way of forming the Government, legal basis of its activities, its power and relations with other State bodies and local authorities are determined by the Regional Laws “On Government of the Nizhny Novgorod region”, “On Structure of the Nizhny Novgorod region Government.”

Appointment of all deputy governors is to be approved by the Legislation Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
